UNLOCK THE ROOT ACCOUNT IN UBUNTU 9.10

Hi friends,
As we know root account is disabled in ubuntu 9.10 by default. There are some advantages in login as root. We cannot unlock root account in this ubuntu release as before. Have a look at this method, this will be useful.

1.If you have already created your root password by using the command Terminal > sudo passwd root, you just have to deactivate auto-login in gnome.

2.To do that go to
System > Administration > Login screen > Unlock > ‘Show the screen for choosing who will login’. > Close.

3.Once you did that Log out of your account.
Choose ‘Other’ from the login screen and log in as root.

4.You won’t be asked for a password at any other time except login.

5.To activate all the options that the Ubuntu has deactivated,
go to
System > Administration > Users & Groups > root > Properties > User privileges, and click everything.

My worst experience with Fedora12

Hi friends,
Here is a little story about the worst experience i got wit fedora 12… As like other Linux distributions, i was very much attracted by Fedora 12, before its release… The reason could be the well known rock-solid stability of fedora distributions… yesterday I got the Fed 12 DVD and started to install.. There is no problem with the installation… Once I finished the installation, i reboot the system, to my surprise the very first message appeared after i logged into the system was YOUR KERNEL HAS BEEN CRASHED I was very much frustrated at that second itself.. I searched for the description for the kernel crash.. But I couldn’t find any description for the crash..
I left that and tried to connect to Internet via the network manager… first time it worked fine.. Once i reconnect the next time it didn’t work.. Next crash report was NETWORK MANAGER CRASHED ..
Software installation also caused problems.. This was not happened to myself alone but also for my friends.. They found difficulties for installing the nvidia libraries… So many bugs.. I dono what the hell the testing team did at fedora development unit…. So be aware before the installation of FEDORA CONSTANTINE….

Our favourite search engine giant Google (not only the search engine.. a web giant) has released its web browser last year. As we know it is the Google chrome browser .Now google wants to step into operating sytem area also. So google planned to develop an operating system based on open source. The new operating system from google was named as Chrome OS. This increases the heat between Microsoft (a proprietary ghost) and Google (master of the web). Chrome OS’ kernel is based on the linux kernel. The most important concept used is the cloud computing. It can be viewed as a browser which operates as an operating system.
