A brand new fedora 13 has been released couple of days ago with the code name goddard. Most of the fedora lovers like this edition, which was shipped with more enhancements and with some slight modifications from previous editions. One notable change in this edition and of course in previous edition is that, main menu preference will not be available (that is System -> Preference -> Main menu wont exist). This change made some people worry. So let us see how to enable that preference and group the mostly using and needed items in our main menu as per our wish.
To do this we have to install a separate package called “alacarte”.
Step 1:
Open a terminal, login as root by typing
su -
Step 2:
use yum to install that pacakge with following command:
yum install alacarte
thats it. now you will have main menu preference. have a look at this following picture:
